Ahead of World Telecommunications Day (May 17), the United States Embassy and Strategic Outcomes’ Digital Transformation Agenda will launch this Series on “Leadership in Technology” to stimulate debate and action on shared tech policy goals. Without a doubt, 5G is the hottest topic in wireless circles today. With faster data speeds, increased device density, and ultralow latency, 5G will become a foundation for innovation, transforming many sectors of the economy and creating industry verticals not imagined today. Zimbabwe has limited 5G deployment and the modalities that establish its parameters are unknown to many. In the United States, 5G networks continue to roll out and improve encouraging a wave of economic activity as the networks enable new and improved use cases across industries.
This discussion will cover basic information about 5G, and is designed to increase public understanding of what 5G is as well as debunk certain myths and misinformation about its deployment, use and costs? |
